Supplements were basically created with the aim to provide an easy and pure form of nutrition. Supplements are the artificial form of natural nutrients. Its motive was to provide complete nutrition the local people who lack to attain from their diet like protein, multivitamins etc.
In India , the usage of supplements is the most controversial and popular topic. Many people from the country use supplements but still lot of the population is still doubt the usage of supplements even after being one of the major protein deficit nation in the world. Mostly the old generation have misconceptions regarding fitness supplements. Some people consider supplements as steroids BUT they are unknown to the reality. People carry alot of misconceptions that i will try to clarify. Here you will get to know about the actual reality of supplements.

Misconception : The major myths of protein are:
1. Protein is only for Bodybuilders.
2. Protein can damage your kidneys.
3. Protein powder is steroid

Reality: Protein is essential for every normal person (1.2 per kg). Protein is a natural supplement which is beneficial for everyone and it will not damage any of your body organ instead it will help in muscle growth and muscle recovery. Protein is a natural and safest supplement to consume, it can't be considered as anabolic steroid.
CREATINE

Misconception : The major myths of creatine are:
1. Creatine causes hair loss.
2. Creatine damage kidney.
3. Creatine causes over water retention.
Reality : Creatine is the most researched supplement. It is completely safe for consumption. Their is no scientific evidence of hair loss due to creatine. Some amount of water retention is usual as the water is being pulled by the muscles and its completely normal and safe.
Mass Gainer
1. Mass Gainers build muscle automatically.
2. Mass Gainers can replace meals.
3. Mass Gainers are unhealthy.
Reality : Mass Gainer according to me is not a worthy supplement as it helps to increase calories and protein but protein supplement could be cheaper and better. Gainers only works as a tool to gain weight but you still have to do workout and proper hardwork. Gainer is for those who are very skinny and need weight gain (not lean muscle) in a shorter period of and are completely safe for consumption.
